Liza Niles  

Textile designer and consultant. Liza has a BFA in textiles with a concentration in screen printing and traditional surface design techniques. For the last ten years she has been living in New York while working in the commercial industry, teaching, and pursuing international research.

Liza develops original prints for various apparel companies and is also a consultant for the software company, Pointcarre. In the home furnishing industry, Liza develops original collections for bedding and bath and frequently oversees the printing production. As adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design in both the textile and digital design departments, Liza has been a visting faculty and has received grant support to travel in Asia, South America, and the Carribean. While traveling she became aware of the challenges and needs of grassroots textile organizations in developing countries. Consequently, she has devoted part of her time as a representative for an NGO, Aid to Artisans that supports craft throughout the world. As a consultant, Liza is invited to the host country and works with the artisans to improve their working conditions and to revise their product development for the US market.
